Tousignant, Denise
Denise Tousignant is a biologist who graduated from Laval University (B. Sc., 1990) and from McGill University (M. Sc., 1993). From 1993 to 1998, she was a scientific advisor for the Saint-Modeste forest nursery. Her work, especially the part aimed at improving the “Bouturathèque” system, introduced her to conifer cutting propagation and nursery production. In 1998, she joined the Direction de la recherche forestière (DRF) as a researcher on vegetative propagation, and pursued her research on cutting and seedling production techniques for forest species. In 2010, she joined the DRF’s transfer team as scientific editor. She obtained a certificate in writing practices from TÉLUQ University in 2015, a certification for editing in French from Editors Canada in 2018 and another for scientific edition from the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences in 2021. Her current tasks include editing the DRF’s scientific collections as well as the linguistic revision of scientific texts written in both French and English. Since 2016, she is also editor-in-chief of Le Naturaliste canadien, a French-language scientific journal.
