DeBlois, Josianne
Josianne DeBlois is a statistician with two degrees from Laval University (B. Sc., 1995 and M. Sc., 1996). From 1996 to 1999, she was part of the biometrics team at the Direction de la recherche forestière (DRF) and collaborated mostly to research projects on the genetic improvement of trees. From 1999 to 2002, she was employed by Citibank Canada, in Toronto, to offer statistical support to the marketing, finance and credit departments. In January 2003, she was hired by the Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor to take part in work on pay equity. In December 2003, she returned to the DRF and has been a part of the biometrics team ever since. She conducts statistical analysis for various research projects, mostly on tree breeding and silviculture of hardwood or mixed forests. She also offers statistical advices to researchers and coauthors of scientific documents. Her main areas of expertise are quantitative genetics, analysis of variance, modelling and experimental design. As a member of the organisation’s scientific review committee, she oversees the peer review of manuscripts for the DRF’s scientific collections.
