Michaud-Larochelle, Sébastien
Sébastien Michaud-Larochelle is a forest engineer (ing.f.) who graduated from Laval University (B. Sc., 2016; M. Sc., 2024). His master’s thesis focused on the effects of irregular shelterwood cutting on key ecological attributes in temperate northern and boreal forests. Previously, as a forest technician from 2005 to 2015, he worked as a project manager for two forestry consulting firms. From 2016 to 2018, he was responsible for forest management work in public forests at the Groupement forestier de Portneuf, and from 2018 to 2020, he served as a forestry consultant at Le groupe CAF.
Since 2018, he has been involved with the Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers du Québec, first as a member of the board of directors and the executive committee, and now as the chairman of the continuing education committee. Since 2020, he has been working as a research professional at the Direction de la recherche forestière. He is responsible, among other things, for planning and coordinating the implementation of new second-generation validation monitoring networks (suivi des effets réels 2.0). His primary interests include forest management and silviculture, timber marking, and forest inventory.
