Section 109

Every person authorized to build or improve a bridge must, in addition to the conditions concerning bridges provided for in section 108, meet the conditions relating to bridges provided for in Schedule 12. The foregoing also applies to a person who repairs a bridge.

Explanations

A person who builds, improves or repairs a bridge must comply with the conditions applicable to bridges that are specified in Schedule 12, in addition to those set out in section 108.

It should be noted that in some situations, the conditions specified in Schedule 12 may apply only to the elements of the bridge being repaired or improved. The person responsible for the work must agree on this with the representatives of the regional office of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts This link opens a new window (in French only), and must provide plans and specifications for the proposed work, along with an inspection and evaluation report for the bridge produced within the last year.
